The ATEX couplings of the MK type excel in transmitting torques from 0.05 Nm and shaft diameters from 1 mm. Miniature bellows couplings consist of 2 hubs and a bellows. The couplings are compact, provide high stiffness, are free from play, and can accommodate radial, axial, and angular misalignment errors. They are used, among others… Applied in medical technology, laboratory equipment, and micro pumps.
According to the Machinery Directive, ATEX miniature bellows couplings may only be used within an enclosed housing. Both the input and output shafts need to be monitored to ensure shutdown in case of a coupling malfunction. Dimensions and materials of the standard models remain largely unchanged. The misalignments, speeds, and nominal torque of the standard models must be reduced by 30%.
